At T6 we believe that PSHE is an essential part of sixth form life. The PSHE curriculum has been developed and is aligned with the statutory guidance for all schools. We have taken into consideration the different elements needed to allow our young people to leave our Sixth form ready for adult life and independent living. We have tried to ensure a balance between managing their current lives and laying the foundations for managing future experiences. This means that we focus on topics with real life relevance at this crucial transition point in their lives. We cover a variety of topics and also work with the careers team to ensure we have guest speakers and links to Higher Education.

We have tried to ensure that we build on the lower school PSHE programme; our categories for the different sessions connect to the work they have already covered but we also introduce them to the wider skills, strategies and attributes they will need post 18.

The content we cover is primarily through our Friday assembly and PSHE lesson, this is also a chance for the sixth form to come together and hear important messages and celebrate achievements.
