Life in Sixth Form

We aim to provide students with opportunities to achieve excellent results and contribute in a significant way to the wider community through student leadership roles. Our welcoming, positive and vibrant community is built upon mutual respect and our student body is characterised by its energy, independence, intelligence, can-do-attitude and camaraderie.

Our philosophy is that all of our students should be supported on an individual basis in terms of both their academic progress and their wellbeing. It is our aim to ensure that you not only achieve your educational goals, but also that you become thoughtful, active citizens leaving us with confidence, commitment and optimism for your future.

We pride ourselves on being role models for every pupil within the Turner Schools Trust. While in the Sixth Form, we encourage our pupils to give some of their time and energy to the Trust and to the local community. This might involve volunteering for reading or mentoring through one of our many internships, helping out with sports including football and basketball coaching, working with the local radio station or involving yourself in creative arts events for or with the younger students.

‘Students in the sixth form are supported in achieving increasingly high outcomes through the high-quality care and guidance they receive from staff.’ Offsted
